THE SAMPLE FILES PROVIDED WITH CADRE
CADRE creates a CADRE directory and two subdirectories on
installation:
DYNSAMP (dynamic vibration samples)
CANTBEAM.FEM a vibrating beam used in the
getting started tutor
PINNED.FEM sample using pinned beams
BRIDGE3D.FEM 3d bridge structure used in
the "getting started" tutor.
AIRPLANE.FEM full airplane free-free modes.
MESH.FEM a mesh with mass at the nodes to
simulate planar vibration modes,
and to show difficulties with
repeated roots. Try the different
eigenvalue algorithims and compare
the results!
SMESH.FEM a small mesh used for the sample
Merging exercise in the User Manual.
RING.FEM Vibration of a 2' diam ring of 1/4
inch steel (round bar). Model
created in AutoCAD using the DXF
converter.
TUNEFORK.FEM Model of a 440 hz tuning fork modeled
directly from measurements.
STATSAMP (static load samples)
GARAGE.FEM building structure made from
repeated merged sub-elements.
Note the 'Library Elements'
list for this example.
BRIDGE.FEM static model of 2d bridge truss.
CANTBEEM.FEM static cantilever beam created in
'getting started' tutor.
SMLCYL.FEM - a cylindrical static load model.
PEERY.FEM Frame Problem (6.14) from "Aircraft
Structures", second editiom by Perry & Azar,
1982. Included to demonstrate that the CADRE
solution matches the book
solution. Stiffness values
are arbitrary, but AE was chosen two orders
of magnitude higher than is realistic
for the problem to decouple axial stiffness
from the problem. Perry and Azar do not
account for axial stiffness effects in
problelm 6.14.
PEERY2.FEM Same problem as PERRY.FEM but with the frame
oriented in a arbitrary plane. Included to
demonstrate that CADRE solutions are
invarient under rotations. Note that the
local element coordinate system values for
internal load values are the
same as for PEERY.FEM.
ARCH60.FEM Example Problem 1, Article 8.3, page 284
, of "Roark's Formulas for Stress and
Strain", Sixth Edition. Included to
demonstrate that CADRE solution matches book
solution. File created in AutoCAD and
converted with the DXF file converter.
These files can be opened in CADRE and examined, edited,
and solved. However, they are already solved with the
solutions saved in the CADRE file subdirectories. The results can
be reloaded using the item;
Re-load results
under the Files item on the main menu bar.
